The Scenery

The Scenery
Sparkling and glistening in the light
bouncing off the setting sun
Boats glide across
leaving behind rapid waves
The ripples are soon crushed
by an argosy boat

The outline of the mountains
disappear in the distance
The aroma of fresh grass and nature
surround me
Small talk is heard
throughout the park

Old folks gather around
taking in the Seattle scenery
Appreciating the view more
and more every second
Because they know
it will not last for long

As they walk away
the scenery still remains
The water, mountains, and the boats

  1. Hello, I think our assignment was to post comments on other people's blogs, so here I am.

I like that you gave yours more of a poem format. I also like that you refer to your actual location, it makes the writing seem more interesting. Nice piece overall.

  2. The Argosy boat! Haha it brings back good times :) I remember seeing that boat that day!
I love how poetic this is, it has so much imagery and vivid descriptions that really put myself in a different world.

  3. This was fun to read. Always an achievement for a writer. I particularly liked the admixture of nature with manufactured things, and with the people who joined you in this setting.
